Team Information
Teams will be fielded in each of the following age divisions:
6U – Players ages 5 and 6 as of January 1, 2021
8U – Players ages 7 and 8 as of January 1, 2021
10U – Players ages 9 and 10 as of January 1, 2021
12U – Players ages 11 and 12 as of January 1, 2021
14U – Players ages 13 and 14 as of January 1, 2021
Teams will be comprised of 5-10 players, with DYFA fielding as many teams as possible in each division and each division containing multiple teams from each of the local participating organizations. This means our teams will get to compete against each other as well as multiple teams from both West York and Northeastern in league competition as well as postseason. In divisions in which DYFA fields two or more teams, players will be fairly divided by DYFA in cooperation with the other participating organizations. In order to ensure competitive balance and fair playing time for all participants, players may not request to be paired together and no requests for assignment to a specific team or coach will be honored. Other than siblings wishing to play on the same team, there will be absolutely no exceptions to this policy.
Team assignments will be made after registration is closed and the number of DYFA teams being fielded in each division is determined.
Coaching Information
Each team will be assigned a Head Coach and, to the extent volunteers are available, an Assistant Coach. Individuals wishing to volunteer as Head or Assistant Coaches should identify that during the registration process. Once the number of teams being fielded in a division is determined, Head Coaches will be selected by DYFA prior to team assignment of players to ensure each Head Coach is paired with their child and assistant coaches will be assigned after teams are separated, to the extent possible.
